Alright, here's another thing for my AU theme this month, two versions of Mathilde if she was in Adventure Time. One normal, and one if she put on Ice King's Crown and became The Ice Princess. Both were understandably very fun to work on, because with alternate universes based in other franchises, you can come up with a lot of fun things with rules in place, though this tends to make the final product that much funner.

Basically, I made both Adventure Time Mathilde, and Ice Princess Mathilde because of the latest episode, "Jake the Dog", where Finn puts on the crown and becomes Ice Prince (Fanon term), it was so interesting, I couldn't help but muse about it with my characters. So I went with Mathilde because I think it'd work with her best.

Again, this is PURELY for fun, I don't mean to come off as a fanboy for Adventure Time, it's non-canon as heck, but I had a lot of fun making this. I hope you'll enjoy it too!

(UPDATE: These backstories were written two and a half years ago, Adventure Time has continued it's story, and my writing/ideas have improved, so I ight redo these sometime, they're kind of old/outdated, keep reading if you like!)

Adventure Time!
Mathilde Ferdinand wanted to be an adventurer ever since she was little, though she had no place to stay, she wandered the lands of Ooo trying to help best she could, getting scissors back from behind shelves, punching crabs in the face, or other things, there was nothing she would turn down! One day, in a forest, she found a lost, young rabbit. It seemed her parents left it behind in a panic, because a bear chased her away shortly after picking it up, it seemed the young rabbit's name was Tria, so Mathy took it upon herself to take care of it.
Shortly after that, she was lost in a misty forest. The human didn't know what to do, not much adventuring to be had there... Luckily for her, a strange woman named Shiki () Appeared before her, it seems she liked kids, so she took Mathilde and the rabbit in, and took her to an old abandoned house under a cliff, with a field nearby. She finally had a home.
7 Years later, at the age of 14, Mathilde decided it was time to get to real adventuring, with her faithful rabbit friend Tria at her side, she hopes to be a great hero like Billy one day

That part was pretty easy to write, really. It was fun and cute.
Next part is basically an AU of an AU, so sorry if this gets confusing.

Power of the Ice and Snow
1000 years ago, The Lich caused the Mushroom Wars, plaguing the land with mutagenic waste. A brave man named Simon Petrikov, wielding the powers of ice and snow by a magical crown stood up to The Lich, though he was valiant and powerful, he was ultimately struck down. In grief and anger, the crown's potent magical abilities froze the world over, and caused a second ice age.

This was the world Mathilde was born into, an icy wasteland where survival of the fittest was king. Though by her time, the ice age was near it's end, she still was very used to ice and cold, living in a village with experienced and veteran explorers...as well as her loving family. On her 14th birthday, it was time for her to strike it out on her own, go on an adventure, bring back some food for her family and the village.
Or maybe something of value!

It took weeks...maybe a month, nothing. On her travels she saw many strange creatures, but nothing worth. Just when she was about to return home, a cave caught her eye. It looked very old. SHe didn't have much to lose, so she entered...inside the cave was an old skeleton, and a beautiful golden crown. That's what she could bring home. As she reached out for the crown, however, she slipped and fell into an icy crevice, and was frozen for 600 long years.

She would have been there forever, if a vampire named Shiki
didn't thaw her out. The world had changed much, it was now warm, quirky, and vibrant. Something Mathilde was looking forward to. Though everyone she knew was long gone, she took the crown, she had to make something out of her 600 frost nap.

The world was so beautiful, she was so glad that she no longer had to live in fear of ice and cold, she could be as warm as she wanted. Shiki invited to her house, which she accepted, it was pretty nice, living in warmth with a friend. Though one night, the woman jokingly put the crown upon Mathilde's head. nothing happened, so she took it off. To humor her, she put the crown upon her head willingly.

To her surprise, she felt infused with power, magic! It was real after all, but she was assaulted by voices, voices telling her to freeze the world and make it her own, make it pure. Mathilde immediately took the crown off. What did she say? She couldn't remember. Something was happening to her.

As time went on, she learned that the crown gave her magical powers, the power to control and generate the power of the cold and snow. Ironic, she lived in fear of it, now she controlled it. Maybe with this, she could be a hero and be a great adventurer! ...But the voices...the voices kept talking, even when the crown was off, it was driving her to the brink of madness, and driving her crazy. Not only was it changing her mind, it was changing her physically, her hair grew much longer, and her skin was starting to lose it's color.

She didn't know what to do, the crown gave her powers, yes, but she knew her mind might not be the same anymore, what was it doing to her, and why?
Out of fear for her friend, Mathilde ran away, back to the place she started out, the cold, icy wasteland. The crown told her to make this her kingdom. Her home. It was her fate, and she was resigned to it. Seemed that she was born to always be in cold. At this point, her hair was turning white, and her skin was starting to look... blue. She didn't care anymore...

She made a castle, and renovated the icy wasteland, making it her kingdom! Igloos, getting rid of too much snow, some trees... It had to be a nice place to live for someone such as her. The crown meant she was royalty, right? There seemed to be a lot of arctic hares of some king in the area, She liked those, they could be her citizens until people moved in, yes...

She was the Ice Princess, after all. Ruler of the ice and cold...

A few months later, she became active, kidnapping people, or doing other bad things for attention, she just wanted friends! And people to live in her icy kingdom, was that so wrong...?
Well, given how cold it is, probably.

Annnnd that's all!
Backstories were fun to write, I hope you guys like it. n_n;
Only thing I have left to add is IP's personality. She's mentally unstable, of course, but can be nice and sweet at times, however, is very prone to anger when she is insulted or called crazy. Overall, she's very lonely and wants friends or people to live with her in her kingdom. She'd also like it if people took her seriously. Not picky about who she'll kidnap, she wants friends of all kinds! Not just Princes or Princesses.
Her body is age locked at 14, due to the magic of the crown, so she is prone to childish behavior. She hates being alone and talks to herself and the hares in her kingdom a lot.
And since she used to be an adventurer, and a hero. She loves exploring and going out on adventures away from home, in fact, she might help some people from time to time as a break from bad deeds. But rarely.

Mathilde is basically the same as before, sweet, kind, loves helping people. And here she wants to be a hero like Billy was.
